Black Methodists for Church Renewal (BMCR) is the organized Black caucus of The United Methodist Church, one of five official U.S.-based ethnic caucuses, representing more than 2,400 Black UM congregations and approximately 500,000 African American members denomination-wide. In 2025 the North Georgia caucus (NGBMCR) held pre- and post-Annual Conference town halls to assess the impact of structural and legislative changes on Black churches, continued its "Getting to Know NGBMCR" visitation initiative, and offered the NGBMCR Hush Arbor (a seventh year) as a space for prayer, meditation, and fellowship at the 2025 Annual Conference.
NGBMCR engaged children and youth through a Camp Glisson scholarship program, participated in CCORR and the conference Reparations Task Force, held quarterly membership meetings, sent a letter to Emory's interim president objecting to elimination of DEI programming, and submitted a Black History Month presentation.
