Conference Board of Laity

Conference Lay Leader Kim Powell reflects on two years of service, grounding the Board of Laity's work in the 2026 theme "Unto the least of these" and Philippians 2:1–5. The Board—including United Women in Faith, United Methodist Men, the UM Council on Scouting, Lay Servant Ministries, District Lay Leaders, and Associate Conference Lay Leaders—held training events and worship in each district, meeting at Peachtree Road UMC and Ben Hill UMC.

Powell served with her South Georgia counterpart Scott Cleaveland on the One Georgia Task Force, traveling the state on projects including the 2025 One Georgia Advent Devotional, the Sacred Spaces Devotional, the One Georgia Unification Report, and town hall meetings to educate members about becoming the Georgia Conference.
