The Connectional Ministries Team (CMT) is a collection of ministry teams centered on the Connectional Table's five areas of focus: New Faith Opportunities & Communities, Scriptural Literacy & Imagination, Racial Justice & Healing, Health & Wellbeing, and Community Engagement. Its work is framed by three responsibilities: Advocacy, Discipleship, and Resources/Stewardship. CMT members participated in the Georgia Interfaith Public Policy Event at Oak Grove UMC and developed a discipleship resource page (ngumc.org/discipleship).
CMT evaluates grant applications from UM affiliates before they go to BEAT for final review, and it develops and awards Church of Excellence (COE) Awards. CMT presented COE Awards to 14 churches at the 2025 Annual Conference and received almost 20 applications for 2026. Clergy Co-chair: Anjie Peek Rivers; Lay Co-chair: Lee D. Highsmith.
