Duke Divinity School celebrated its 99th Opening Convocation in 2025 and commemorated the 1700th anniversary of the Nicene Creed. It welcomed 219 new students, including 120 in the Master of Divinity program (10% growth), and four new faculty.

Duke Divinity School celebrated its 99th Opening Convocation in August 2025 with a sermon by Dean Edgardo Colón-Emeric launching a Nicene Creed Preaching Series. Joining Christians worldwide to commemorate the 1700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea, Duke scholars published Trinitarian Matters: 1700 Years of Shaping Christian Identity and Practice and hosted two conference events exploring Nicaea.

In 2025 Duke welcomed 219 new students, including 120 in the Master of Divinity program (10% growth), plus new students across MA in Christian Practice (6), Doctor of Ministry (34), Master of Theology (7), Master of Theological Studies (32), Doctor of Theology (5), and the Certificate in Theology and Health Care (14). Duke confirmed an MOU with Huntingdon College and welcomed four new faculty. Dean: Edgardo Colón-Emeric.
