Gammon, the UMC's only Historically Black Theological Institution, reports progress toward independent accreditation, enrollment of 41 students, and major grant support for its "Gammon 3.0" expansion.

Gammon Theological Seminary remains the only Historically Black Theological Institution (HBTI) of The United Methodist Church. After launching an independent Master of Divinity program in 2024, Gammon hosted its initial SACSCOC site visit in October 2025, receiving affirmation of 93% compliance, with final review pending the June 2026 SACSCOC board meeting; it aims for full ATS accreditation by December 2027. As of Spring 2026 Gammon enrolls 41 students (10 new, 31 continuing), with about 73% United Methodist-affiliated.

Fund development included a three-year $975,000 capacity-building grant from GBHEM, a $375,000 grant from the Pitts Foundation for Phase III renovations, a $250,000 scholarship grant from the SOMA Foundation, and the launch of the "Become 1 of 1 Million" endowed scholarship campaign.
