United Theological Seminary, founded in 1871, served 642 graduate students (275 doctoral, 375 master's) in the 2024-25 fiscal year—approximately 30% enrollment growth since 2021—placing it among the largest United Methodist seminaries. Students came from 38 states, 24 nations, and 54 denominations, with United Methodists the largest denominational group. United introduced a Doctor of Theology in 2024 (13 students in its first year); its Doctor of Ministry program enrolled 262 mentor-led students, and master's programs span eight houses of study (offered in English, Spanish, and Korean), including new African and Hispanic Houses of Study.

The Fresh Wind Campaign to raise $10 million for the endowment has raised more than $9 million. President Kent Millard announced his retirement effective June 30, 2026, after ten years; a Presidential Search Committee is identifying his successor, who will begin July 1, 2026.
