Equitable Compensation Guidelines & Minimum Compensation

The Commission on Equitable Compensation brings its guidelines and standards for pastoral support, including the conference minimum compensation, the accountable reimbursement plan, housing-allowance and parsonage standards, and the conference arrearage policy. The Equitable Compensation Fund undergirds the Discipline's guarantee of security of appointment — that every appointed pastor receives at least the conference-approved minimum.

For Conference Action — Commission on Equitable Compensation.

The Commission brings its guidelines and standards for pastoral support (report 207) for approval, including:

  • Minimum compensation for clergy and the schedule by category;
  • The Equitable Compensation Fund, which enables the conference to fulfill the Discipline's mandate of security of appointment — that all appointed clergy receive at least the conference-approved minimum;
  • Accountable Reimbursement Plan standards;
  • Housing allowance and parsonage guidelines and minimum standards for church-provided parsonages; and
  • The conference arrearage policy for churches behind on pastoral support.

The 2027 budget includes an Equitable Compensation Fund line of $275,000 within Area I.
